Message Ok a quick run down. Years from 90 - 95...5spds have 300hp. Years from 90-95...autos have 280hp. In 96, BOTH the 5spd & auto have 280hp.

I was told that even though the Autos have 280hp, that they are just as quick if not faster than the 5spds (300hp) on the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times because you loose less boost during shifts.

I can't remember...but I think the timing was changed. I know whatever they did was so they wouldn't have so much problems with emissions.

In 96 the ECU is different than the 90-95 models. So there is now JWT ECU upgrade. However, I hear there are others, but I was told they aren't worth it. I've been talking to people (such as Got Rice?) and he says that 96 doesn't really need the JWT ECU Upgrade. He said an AFC Boost Controller would be just fine. So you can crank up the HP on the 96's. Maybe a little more difficult and expensive, but it can be done.

For the gearing....I don't think they changed anything, but I'm not sure on that.

The car in general is pretty much the same as the 90 - 95 models except for that timing & ECU.
